Hold a FUNdraiser

Younger students can participate in FUNdraisers by holding a A-thons...Hold a walk-a-thon, bowl-a-thon, dance-a-thon, etc. in the name of Habitat.   Hold an contest, concert, event etc. in support of MCHH.   For example, a group of students who call their bicycling group the Peddler’s Express, raised money for a bicycle trip across the USA and donated their funds to MCHH.  You could also choose MCHH as your organization you support during your bar/bat mitzvah.

Elementary School Students:

Ask your student’s school if they would be interested in having MCHH visit and present the Pennies for Palaces program. Students learn about HFH, house construction, the importance of volunteering, and how they can make a “change,” by collecting change.

Build A House, Build A Dream Contest5th Grade Students:

Build a House Build a Dream Contest for Kids to raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity.  This event, run by Delaware Valley HFH, occurs in the spring and is a great way for students to learn about HFH, raise awareness about poverty housing, build a model of their ‘dream’ house and join other 5th graders from the greater Philadelphia region in supporting a worthy cause.   Contact Delaware Valley HFH, 215-564-2102, for more info on how to get your student’s school involved.

High School Students:

Hold FUNdraisers   Did you know that a group of volunteers, ages 18+, can work at a concession stand at a Rivershark’s game at Campbell’s Field or at an event at the Wachovia Center? What about being waiters/waitresses at a local diner for a nite? All while raising money for MCHH!  Students at Cherry Hill HS- West Habitat Chapter held fundraisers at Forno’s Restaurant and The Pop Shop, as well as a bowling event to raise awareness and funds for MCHH.
