1. We regard the stewardship of your gift as a sacred trust. MCHH endeavors to use your gift as efficiently and effectively as we know how. Typically 85+% of our expenditures go directly toward the building of homes.
- Whenever possible, MCHH will attempt to obtain donated materials in preference to purchase of materials.
- Whenever possible, MCHH will attempt to obtain services on a voluntary basis rather than a subcontracted basis.
- A minimum of three bids shall be obtained for all purchases in excess of $500, except when time is of the essence, or the contract represents repeat business to a supplier who was selected previously by this process. The lowest bid shall be accepted, all other considerations being equal.
- Alternate materials and methods will be evaluated in an ongoing effort to contain house costs.
- Wherever possible, without paying a premium, and all other considerations being equal, preference will be given to firms based in Camden and the employment of Camden residents.
2. MCHH is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of local volunteers, who are charged with fiduciary oversight. For the most part, meetings are open to the public. MCHH submits to oversight by Habitat for Humanity International.
3. MCHH submits to an annual audit of its finances, conducted by an independent certified public accounting firm. MCHH supports full disclosure of information. Our annual financial statement is available upon request.
4. MCHH respects the confidentiality of its partners—we do not rent or sell or otherwise provide access to our mailing list.
