ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST SCHEDULE IN ADVANCE using the VolunteerUP program.
To Get Started: Each individual volunteer must register through our VolunteerUP site. You will then use this online scheduling tool to view our construction schedule, book volunteer opportunities that match your interests and your schedule, and even set it up to receive a reminder email when you want.
This is for individuals who are looking to get involved on the worksite.

General Information
Age Restrictions: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate in on-site construction. Volunteers wishing to participate in tasks including ladders, scaffold, power tools and demolition must be at least 18 yrs. old.
Days/Hours of Operation: We build Tuesday thru Saturday. Typical volunteer days are Wednesday thru Saturday. Sunday builds are rare but do occur from time to time.
The workday begins at 8:30am and ends ~3:30pm (when the job is completed).
We ask that volunteers stay the entire day if at all possible.
Dress: Wear work clothes that are weather appropriate. Layers are best! Shoes: Solid soles, such as
Work boots or sneakers. A hat or bandana is always great to have too!
Prohibited: Sandals, flip flops, open toed shoes! You will not be allowed to work without proper footwear.
Location: All volunteers must report to the Habitat office, located at 650 Clinton Street, Camden NJ 08103. All construction projects are within walking distance from the office. Driving directions can be found on our Contact Us page or back of the Construction Brochure.
Lunch: Bring your lunch & plenty to drink. We have a fridge, microwave & toaster oven for you to use.
Tools: Volunteers are not required to bring their own tools. If you choose, common items you may need are a tool belt, tape measure, utility knife, work gloves & pencils. Make sure you mark them. Please note: MCHH is not responsible for anything lost or stolen.
Regulations: No smoking in any house under construction. No drugs or alcohol on the premises. Never work alone. Always take caution and be aware. Safety equipment is supplied, please use it. Remember the Humanity in Habitat and respect those around you. Notify staff immediately of an accident or unsafe condition. Remember to have FUN!
Material Donation (optional for individual volunteers): You may choose to bring a contribution when you volunteer. Bottled water is always our #1 request. Other items: paper goods: paper towels, napkins, plates, plastic-ware, toilet paper; safety items (eye wash, peroxide, first-aid cream, band-aids); liquid hand soap; carpenter & regular pencils & small hand tools (tape measures, utility knives, chalk lines, etc.)
