Metro Camden Habitat for Humanity offers two services for which you can apply.

 

The Construction Trades Training Program is for individuals 18 years or older, looking to learn the construction trades by working in a hands-on environment.  Full time program (Tuesday thru Saturday), which lasts for 6-12 months (depending on the individual).  Learn more

 

 

The Homeownership Program is for those who are interested in purchasing a house, in the Cooper Plaza Neighborhood of Camden City, NJ.  We do not work on houses in any other area of the city or the County.

We build houses to be sold to families in need.  We do not rent our houses, nor do we work on houses that you own that are in need of repair.  Learn more

Callers can receive information about and referrals to a wide variety of human services including: Basic human needs – food banks, clothes, shelters, rental help and utility assistance.  Physical and mental health resources- insurance programs, crisis intervention and drug & alcohol rehabilitation.  Work support- job training and transportation assistance.  Support for the elderly-meals and home health care.  Youth services - child care, after-school programs, tutoring and protective services.

No-interest loans for qualified homeowners to make necessary home improvements to their properties.  Provides affordable housing by rehabilitating owner occupied housing.   First-time homebuyers’ activities.

Weatherization program designed to help low-income families and individuals meet home heating costs. Assistance is provided to households heated by gas, electricity, oil, kerosene and propane. Homeowners and tenants who pay for heat as part of their rent may receive benefits under the program.4 In addition to the heating assistance benefit, LIHEAP recipients may be eligible for emergency energy assistance, weatherization payments, and assistance in paying medically necessary cooling costs.
